Mavericks Brewing Company
Mavericks Brewing is named after the legendary eight-story waves off Half Moon Bay's pillar point harbor. When the weather conditions are just right, world-class surfers from around the world are given a few days notice to make their way to Half Moon Bay to make surf history.
This craft brewery is devoted to creating premium American craft beer as bold and invigorating as the waves for which they are named.
Though Mavericks is a young brand, its brewer, James Costa, is an industry-all star. Costa has previously aided in the development of Bear Republic Brewing Company's Racer 5 IPA and has won multiple gold medals at the Great American Beer Festival for his formulations. Under Costa, Mavericks won a 2015 Gold Medal in the French / Belgian Ale category (U.S. Open Beer Championships) and a 2015 Silver Medal in the Premium American Lager category (California State Fair).
